| PBC began as an online vendor
known as Performance Buyers Club back in 1992, selling parts for Mazdas.
As time went on, more and more customers inquired about getting the
parts they had purchased installed on their cars and so began our
evolution. It started with a small box of tools and a floor jack,
installing parts in the parking lot. Then came the hydraulic lift
and the part time mechanic, which turned into us renting a second
building next to our parts warehouse, installing two new lifts, and
hiring one and then two full-time mechanics. That first dedicated
shop was not very efficient. It was 19-feet wide by 75-feet long and
required you to drive through the first lift to get to the second.
Boy, those were the days. However, as our service business increased,
it became clear to us that we would need to move in order to grow.
In December of 2003, we did just that. We moved about half a mile up the road and began using half of a 5000 square foot space. There we set up a total of three lifts side by side, downsized our aftermarket parts inventory, and began to really concentrate on growing the service side of the business. We added several fleet accounts, hired technicians with extensive backgrounds in both foreign and domestic cars and trucks, and equipped the shop accordingly. It was not long however until we had outgrown this space as well and when the entire 5000 square foot space was made available to us we jumped at the chance. Now, with the full space at our disposal, we have purchased additional lifts, including a 4-post alignment rack, and will be bringing on new technicians to meet the ever-increasing demand for service (See Photos). As a long time internet parts vendor, we still maintain our strong relationships with all of our suppliers.
